James (Jim) Luglio, PE
President
Jim Luglio is a licensed Professional
Engineer with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University and a
Masters in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University. Jim has
over 30 years experience in the bulk material handling industry, serving clients
in cement, mining, fertilizer, energy, and food processing industries.
Jim
began his career with Barber Greene/Telsmith,
now Astec Industries, as an application engineer designing rock crusher and
screening systems. Later he managed the
sales of road building and rock crushing and conveying equipment in Latin
America, the Middle East, and throughout North America.
He joined Martin Engineering in 1988 as
International Operations Manager. Jim rapidly expanded Martin’s international
sales of conveyor and material flow aid devices worldwide. He developed a sales
organization and new distributors, founded a new joint venture in Brazil, and
provided management support for a subsidiary in Mexico.
In 1997 Jim became the International Sales Manager for the Conveying Equipment
Division of Rexnord, a manufacturer of bucket elevators, pan and drag conveyors,
engineered chains, and other power transmission equipment and was Product
Manager for Rexnord’s belt conveyor idlers.
At Douglas Manufacturing, Jim expanded applications of conveyor components
including idlers, pulleys, tensioning devices, and magnetic separators into the
Latin American market.
He has published numerous papers on material handling, organized and conducted
training seminars, written and translated technical literature, and spoken at
many industry conferences. Jim is bilingual, speaking English and Spanish
equally well. He has traveled extensively in the US,
Latin America, Europe, and Asia solving bulk material processing problems as a
representative of leading equipment manufacturers in the industry.
Drawing on this vast experience, Jim formed Luglio Engineering Consultants
International to provide independent consulting services to the bulk material
handling and processing industry.
